European bands Coldplay and U2 are coming to Manila for separate concerts in November and February 2017 and promoters have booked the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena for their performances.
The MOA Arena bookings are not final though, until the contracts have been signed.
English band Coldplay is scheduled to perform in the latter part of November. Meanwhile, Irish band U2 is scheduled in February 2017.
Coldplay was formed by lead vocalist and pianist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland in 1996 at University College London (UCL). The band has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, producing hits such as "The Scientist," "Yellow" and "Fix You." Other members include bassist Guy Berryman and drummer/backing vocalist Will Champion.
As for U2, it was formed in 1976 and its members include lead vocalist Bono, The Edge (lead guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist), bass guitarist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. They have sold over 170 million records and released 13 studio albums including "Boy," "Achtung Baby" and "Songs of Innocence." Some of their popular songs are "With Or Without You," "All I Want Is You," "Beautiful Day" and "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of."
