San Miguel Beermen – Arinze Onuaku – 2015 PBA Import (with Video)
According to Philstar “No confirmation yet. We’re awaiting word from his agent. We’ll know within this week,” San Miguel top official Robert Non said.
The 27-year-old Lanham, Maryland native, No. 1 in the Syracuse all-time list with a .648 field shooting and No. 11 in blocks with 148, had brief stints in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers before drifting to the D-League.
He’s listed as a 6-foot-9 forward who could have started with San Miguel’s 1-2 punch in Junemar Fajardo and Arwind Santos.
On August 22, 2013, Onuaku signed with the New Orleans Pelicans. On November 12, 2013, he was waived by the Pelicans. On November 27, 2013, he was re-acquired by the Canton Charge. On February 13, 2014, he was named to the Futures All-Star team for the 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Game, as a replacement for Dewayne Dedmon.
On February 22, 2014, Onuaku signed a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
