Major General Jovito Palparan was arrested early Tuesday on Teresa St., in Sta. Mesa, Manila by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Malolos regional trial court on charges of serious illegal detention and kidnapping of two University of the Philippines Diliman students Karen Empeño and Sherlyn Cadapan who were abducted by alleged military elements.
“I don’t want to be killed by the enemy,” said Palparan in a live radio interview when asked how he was arrested early Tuesday by joint operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation and the Naval Intelligence Group.
Palparan has a P2 million bounty over his head and one of the “Big 5” most wanted men in the country along with Former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes and his brother, former Coron Mayor Mario Reyes, former Dinagat Island Representative Ruben Ecleo Jr. and Globe Asiatique developer Delfin Lee. Lee has been arrested.
