Senator Juan Ponce Enrile arrives in Camp Crame to surrender to the police after a warrant for his arrest was signed, against him for plunder charges at the Sandiganbayan on Friday.
The 90-year old senator is currently facing graft and plunder charges for allegedly receiving kickbacks from businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, alleged mastermind of the pork barrel scandal.
The senator is alleged to have pocketed P172.8 billion in kickbacks from anomalous deals with Ms. Napoles.
Co-accused senators Ramon Bong “Bong” B. Revilla and Jose “Jinggoy” E. Estrada, who also both surrendered to the PNP earlier, are currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
All three senators are facing plunder charges, which under Philippine law, a non-bailable offense, and several counts of graft.
